Dell mini i3 runs is based on Chinese designed – Open Mobile System (Chinese modification of Android), which is based on Android with TD-SCDMA phones (TD-SCDMA is China’s own 3G brew). The Mini 3i isn’t at all that cutting edge as it is not 3G capable, just 2G GSM and no Wi-Fi or WAPI – Chinese equivalent of Wi-Fi. Bluetooth is the only local wireless connectivity with a 3.2 megapixel camera having LED flashlight. The screen of the Dell Mini 3i is 3.5″ touchscreen with 360 x 640 pixels resolution, first for Android.
Its ambient light sensor adjusts the backlight automatically. Its basic feature includes a microSD card slot for storage. A mini USB port handles PC connectivity .Dell Mini’s screen is not that good though, so the built-in GPS is quite a pleasant surprise, and one of the Mini 3i’s saving graces.
The Dell Mini supports the e-shop mobile market with a catalogue of games, applications, wallpapers and ringtones.it is for now available in just two colours red and bronze. It features mostly will be based on the region.

The battery life of Dell Mini is 950mAh which is quite good as it doesn’t have 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. It also lacks any kind of fast connection to internet browser which is a real downer.

Dell mini i3 is sleeker and slimmer with average specification and features. So it’s good buy for its fancy look with not much application and latest features installed.

Archos phone tablet has got a 4.3-inch touch screen with 854 x 480 resolution, a 1GHz ARM processor , but pretty powerful and a 10mm-thick shell and 3G connectivity. Size and specs-wise, it matches up to the Snapdragon- and Windows Mobile-powered Toshiba TG01. It’s purely a touch device powered by Android and will most likely leverage the work and eco-system that Archos has been working on with its other Android products and The Archos Phone Tablet will use a 1GHz ARM processor and the Android operating system.

The phone is somewhat large considering the iPhone has a 3.5-inch screen. . Archos’ Internet Media Tablet, with its powerful video capabilities and relatively large screen is a few inches closer to notebook territory.  It has integrated GPS receiver with 3D maps for navigation, which is quite good.

One of the biggest drawbacks is that it doesn’t allow the users to place calls, unless via VOIP over Wi-Fi. Some good features include high resolution, TV recording and HD video playback, video storage up to 500GB, and ultra flash support.it doesn’t support flash for watching Youtube but can be compelling if adobe issues an update for  flash 10 that works with ARM based processors.

The web browser is quite impressive with tabbed interface making it accessible to lots of users. It has 12 preloaded applications on this phone. It comes with 7 hrs battery life video playback. Multimedia plays a prominent role in this phone. Features a microSD expansion slot which allows more memory to be plugged in to a microSD expansion slot to allow more memory to be plugged in.

The Samsung Behold II is pocketable and light, and with its curved edges and its brown and black colour scheme is quite attractive. The overall look is quite good though.

The hardware of the phone is bit messy though. The front of the phone has seven buttons, to be precise, not including a d-pad, with a dedicated button for the application cube.

Good features of Samsung  Behold II—it has a 5 megapixel camera which captures impressive snapshots with bright colours and is packed with features, like extensive manual controls and burst shooting, LED flash ,an 8X digital zoom, autofocus with variety of shooting modes as well as brightness controls and it’s very fast, unlike the rest of the phone. The touch screen makes it easy to adjust the setting while on shooting mode.

Calls on the Samsung Behold II sounds pretty good as the voices came through clearly. It comes with voice dialling feature, where after giving the instructions; one has to click on the correct choice, which reduces the benefit of the handsfree option. The Web browser on the Samsung Behold II is the standard Android browser, which is good. Wi-Fi performance is not as good as it should be.

It offers 6 hours of talk-time battery life, which is pretty good, too. It has AMOLED display, which doesn’t require a backlight and therefore conserves more battery power.

If you’re looking for a mix of great battery life, call quality, camera, GPS navigation and Web browsing in an all-touch phone, the Samsung Behold II should be your choice.

The Acer Liquid A1 is a new smart phone developed by Acer that will use Android 1.6. It is the 1st smart phone that’s running Google’s open source OS to pack a qualcomm snapdragon chipset that lacks UI customization.

Acer liquid’s physical design though not much convincing; it scores high for its performance and stability. It gives an impression to be somewhat between smartphone, a personal navigation device and a media player. It has got a sleek design and powerful features are sure to entice the customer. It has an 800 X 480 WVGA capacitive touch screen that is highly impressive for a phone of that size. It’s a fully touch screen with no actual buttons. It comes in black, red and white colours with a sleek shape.

It has great native exchange support with different application for streaming media and social networking. Its single touch screen allows to switch wifi, gps, BLUETOOTH on or off with a brand new dialer as added feature. The hardware is impressive though some essential features are missing like an LED flash, and an integrated twitter client. It also has introduced a task managing application switcher. It includes features like playing songs and videos on the handheld liquid phone. It is also good for the internet surfing and browsing and allows high speed web access through HSPA mobile network.

Acer’s being relatively new in the phone world, consumers fear to rely too much on it. If Acer Liquid is to be compared with the iPhone or the G1 or G2 phones, the latter still comes way ahead

The Iron Man, definitely a different name. Now, will it actually create a different place for itself in the market, only time will tell? It looks like a lower end Android phone. But, I suppose that is the whole beauty of Android, even the simplest of phones are fully packed to give high level performance.

The Heron ahs a 2.8” TFT Touch Screen and a QWERTY Keyboard. Now, a unique thing which strikes at the first look would be the confusion with buttons. When the touch screen is closed and the keyboard is pulled behind and hidden, there doesn’t seem to be any buttons to deal with. Also, this piece doesn’t actually look like an android.

The Heron looks like a combination of the Blackberry and the Palm Pre.  The keyboard looks a lot like the Palm Pre. But, it does fulfill all the features of a smart phone. According to news, the Heron was slated for a Windows Mobile but later was turned into an Android.

The sleek looks and handy feel will definitely make it a popular tool among youngsters. Also, the 3 megapixel camera is definitely the point of attraction.

The largest American carrier AT&T and Motorola both need a desperate success and id it can come in form of the Iron Man both will accept it with open arms. Also, a non- I phone device will surely help to spice up the situation for both these giants.

Samsung Moment/InstinctQ

Status: Available November 1st from Sprint

Extras: 3.5mm Headset jack, Wi-Fi, accelerometer, Bluetooth and GPS enabled.
Price: $179.99

The first thing that totally impresses when you have a look at this phone is its amazing Hardware. A full touch AMOLED display, QWERTY pull out keyboard and a strong Processor packaged in a single piece are ready to hit the US Android Powered phone markets.

The high points scored in hardware division are lost somewhat in the software part. Samsung has coupled the stock Android Operating System with a form factor which is quite popular among the message fanatics, but has not done anything else to add to it.

All Google applications like Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Search are easily accessible. This phone includes a Sprint Navigator which will help you while travelling. The Sprint Navigator accepts data by typing or by speaking the address. It guides you towards your destination as soon as it gets the input.

The Calls on the Moment sound quite clear. We did encounter a bit of noise during some calls, but mostly the sound was perfect.

This phone would surely score high as a Social Networking Device because of its slide out keyboard and always on networking.

Even look wise the Moment does not get you excited. It is a bit heavier and bulky as compared to its peers. The only match that it has is the Motorola Cliq. It also has a plastic feel to it which reduces its style quotient.

So, Samsung Moment is almost the correct phone with some shortcomings.

Motorola, once a trendsetter and now just a back marker in the cellular and electronics industry, has finally come up with a device to ensure that its place still holds in the competitive market. The Motorola CLIQ MB200 is a pleasure to watch and is equally powerful and easy to use device and most importantly has the latest Android OS setup in it, all features essential for a smartphone to be successful in today’s market.

The Motorola CLIQ has a dedicated slider QWERTY keyboard which is very comfortable to use and does not put much strain on the fingers. The phone is a bit thicker and heavier thanks to the dedicated keyboard but considering the features it provides, you can compromise on the weight bit. The Home button on the keypad is quite comfortable and not as hard as it looks.  MotoBlur, Motorola’s own user interface on top of the Android OS, integrates Facebook, Twitter, Picassa, MySpace, your email and Gmail contacts and all other important applications into a single unit. Emailing from this phone is a wonderful experience although you cannot copy paste while reading an email.

The camera has a good picture quality in day light but is not so great in dim light or in the dark. The music quality is good and simple and plays almost all formats of music. All other features like Mapping, processor performance, security and entertainment are upto the mark with no flaws and right up there to compete with the other Android phones in the market. Overall, a very refreshing phone and definitely has the capacity to sustain in today’s market. All other manufacturers watch out, Motorola is still in the game.

With the launch of HTC Tattoo, HTC has ensured that the highly popular Google Android OS is quite easily affordable to people. Finally, HTC delivers a smartphone that is power packed with all the latest features and still keeping it a mid-budget phone. Just like other smartphones, HTC has designed its own Sense user interface for this Android device. The name Tattoo signifies the back cover that has various sketches and can be changed anytime.

HTC Tattoo is a compact smartphone, although the screen size is compromised to 2.8 inch screen, something that you do not find in high end smartphones. The phone is made of glossy plastic with great finishing, and hence looks very unique and stylish. The 3-megapixel powerful camera is surrounded by a metallic plate that is useful for the protection of the lens. The quality of the pictures is standard as the phone lacks the auto-focus feature. Since the memory card slot has been placed under the back cover, you must remove the back cover every time you wish to change the memory card.

As far as the applications and their features are concerned, HTC Tattoo is a sure winner. Apart from the usual applications that are included in normal Android phones, the Home screen includes previews of several well-known pages like Google, eBay, MySpace, Facebook, CNN, BBC etc. The smartphone’s memory stores the last six applications that you accessed, and you can directly access them later by holding the Home button.

It supports all the latest technologies for wireless communications like Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth and is also compatible with all email clients and protocols. The only drawback it is not directly compatible with Microsoft Outlook and you need to configure Exchange Server to access Outlook.

The music quality is good although not great but music has never been the selling point of HTC. The battery quality for the phone is good and last for about 2 days and you can almost double the battery life by disabling the live connection to widgets that are not in use. All in all, it is a great phone, and a must for every beginner in the Android world.

Samsung’s Galaxy i7500 is the answer to the latest Android based phones launched by HTC. The craze for the Android OS is on all time high and what a better way than to launch the power packed Galaxy i7500 that contains the Android OS and all its features and applications.

The Samsung Galaxy i7500 is definitely the slimmest Android based phone available in the market today with a thickness of just 11.9mm.

The handset is also very light at 116gms and although the screen is not very large, the overall structure and finishing of the phone is top class. The keypad of the phone has a unique structure like a D-pad and is 5-directional. The tiny Home key on the keypad might be really tiny at times and not easily accessible. The keypad is absolutely finger friendly and you hardly have to access the keypad as the touchscreen comes at your rescue almost every time. The phone features the AMOLED touchscreen which has light sensors that automatically regulate the brightness in the phone.

The 5-megapixel camera equipped with LED flash is by far the best camera in the Android smartphones available in the market. Also, the 8gb memory justifies the purpose of a smartphone to store huge applications of different types at the same time. The headphone jack is properly placed and does not get in the way while removing or keeping the phone in the pocket, a feature that Samsung had to come up with very soon as it was definitely proving to be a missing feature in other Samsung phones. The sound quality of the phone is also decent and is something that you can ignore as it falls in the smartphone category.

Definitely a very handy and pocket friendly phone, thanks to the slimness and the light weight of the phone. A must buy for Samsung followers.

These days’ cell phone manufactures are getting frenzy about two things.

1. Google’s powerful mobile operating system Android.

2.  Make a foray in Smartphone market with a handset which provides promising feature and aesthetically attractive coupled with the Android. So that a sizable chunk of the everyday increasing Smartphone’s market can be tapped.

Till know only Apple, HTC, MOTOROLA were competing now Huawei has joined this race with its latest offering U8230. The company had announced its first Android based Smartphone in January 2009 with a prototype and in just 6 month company declared to build it commercially at CommunicAsia convention.

Huawei U8230 is a touch sensitive Smartphone runs over the highly popular mobile operating system of Google that is Android. It has 3.5″ inch LED touch screen with vibrant colors.  This phone has a 3.5 Megapixel camera which catches every still efficiently. There is a change in the prototype and final product but it is still slick and compact. It uses Qualcomm 7200A 528 MHz processor which gives the power to operate efficiently along with GPS navigation which will show you the direction you are moving on.  On the connectivity front it gives you the power of GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (7.2 Mbps/2.0 Mbps) and what else you need other then Bluetooth 2.0 . But wait there is more for you. The biggest thing which counts in its favor is the battery back up. The battery backup is supposed to be largest among the Smart phone which runs on Android that is 1500mAH. So you don’t need to charge it again and again and gives you peace of mind.
